Hangzhou, is the capital and largest city of Zhejiang Province in Eastern China. It sits at the head of Hangzhou Bay, which separates Shanghai and Ningbo. Hangzhou grew to prominence as the southern terminus of the Grand Canal and has been one of the most renowned and prosperous cities in China for much of the last millennium, due in part to its beautiful natural scenery. The city’s West Lake is its best-known attraction. The prim this new public Civic Center lies in the eastern part of the city in proximity to its’ airport. It is to serve a large new urban and residential area currently in urban planning and land usage stage. The Eastern part houses small office tower which accommodates the official uses of the building. The scope of work consisted of master planning, architecture, elevation control, interior design and landscape. Co-ordinating the necessary engineering disciples in to the scheme was also provided. The client´s significant artistic glass collection required specialized cabinets and vitrines equipped with both side and background lighting. The architecture is based on L-shape plan where the Northern and Eastern part of the building is mainly for the staff facing the green park with comfortable and quiet working conditions.
