This detached building, a former hay storage situated in the city block's courtyard, began as a raw space. New windows were added and the existing southern window broadened to the studio's width. Exterior walls were strengthened from one-and-a-half to double-brick thickness. Intermediate floor structures within the building were designed, creating four levels. Critical importance was placed on the arrangement of spaces and openings between floors. Although the openness between different levels was essential, the private and public spaces were segregated from the topmost bedroom floor by enclosed banisters. The spaces in different levels were arranged to change from public bottom levels to private top levels.
